Background - David Beth was born in 1960 in Kenosha County. He attended St John’s School, Paris Consolidated, and Salem Central High School. David continued his education at UW Parkside, Gateway Technical College and Northwestern University.
1989 saw the start of the DARE Program in Kenosha County. David was the first deputy chosen to get the program up and running. The program was so successful that at one point it grew to cover all elementary and middle schools, along with two high schools.
David along with his wife Sharon have three children, Nathan, Kenna and Evan. They reside in the Town of Brighton.
Occupation - Out of college he worked for Snap-on Tools as a Product Designer before becoming the youngest deputy ever hired by the Kenosha Sheriff’s Department in 1982 at the age of 21. David worked on all shifts while on Patrol. He served working under cover with Navel Intelligence to fight drug use in Southeastern Wisconsin.
In November of 2002, David was elected by the citizens of Kenosha to be its 58th Sheriff. David became the longest serving Sheriff in Kenosha History and is currently serving in his 16th year in office. As Sheriff, he is in command of over 380 employees.
Under Sheriff Beth’s leadership the Sheriff’s Department has generated over $85,000,000 in Federal inmate revenue, obtained over $10,000,000 in grant money and returned over $5,000,000 to Kenosha’s County’s General Fund.
Sheriff Beth was instrumental in creating the K-9 Unit, Traffic Interdiction Unit, KDOG (Kenosha Drug Operations Group) along with Kenosha Police Department and the Twin Lakes Police Department, ATV Unit, Snowmobile Unit and Electronic Monitoring Program.
Politics and Community Involvement - David is also very involved within Kenosha County as he part of the Frank Neighborhood Project, Concerned Citizens Coalition, Christ Lutheran Church Board, Brighton School Building Committee, WIAA Umpire and Referee, Lakeland Little League Coach, Kenosha Sting Coach, WFYF Football Coach, RYS Football Coach, Bulldog Football Coach, WYBC Basketball Coach, Brighton School Dodgeball/Spaghetti Dinner Committee and DARE Instructor for 10 years.
