Governor Evers has been announcing components of his budget during the past few weeks. The transportation budget is one of the most-watched aspects. We’re calling on (and literally calling) Governor Evers and Lt. Gov Barnes to announce a transportation budget that focuses on transportation that supports communities.
On Tuesday, February 19,call Gov. Evers’ office at (608) 266-1212
On Thursday, February 21, call Lt. Gov Barnes’ office at (608) 266-3516
Repeat calls are important because they help get the message across.
Hello, my name is ___________. I live in ______, Wisconsin. I’m calling you as you work on the state budget to ask you to create a transportation system that prioritizes the needs of all Wisconsinites.
As you put together your transportation budget for Wisconsin, I hope that, regardless of whether there is a revenue increase, you will prioritize our public transportation systems and our local roads instead of expanding highways. Adding highway lanes is not only costly, but it also makes congestion and pollution worse and hurts communities. In your next transportation budget, please better our communities by increasing aids to local road, transit and specialized transit and bicycling and pedestrian and do not allow the enumeration of any new highway expansions.
I care about this because _______________. Thank you.
